"What'south it similar to alive in la-la state? Should I bring my unicorn?"

Yes! Buddy reading this i with your unicorn is highly recommended. Beingness in Bree'south head is like wandering aimlessly through la-la state with no escape in sight. A unicorn may be your only hope.

I don't know if I'g burnt out with this genre or if I get pickier as fourth dimension goes by, only either style this book didn't work for me. The over-the-summit antics, the never-ending drama and the saccharine tone was just likewise much for this reader.

Instead of taking the fourth dimension to develop and hone a believable storyline, the author chose to drag her readers from one ridiculous mishap to the next. Maybe information technology was all in an effort to lend some humor to the story, only it wasn't something I constitute exciting or enjoyable. The entire plot hinged on the lack of advice between the characters and it felt weak. All of the disharmonize could take been resolved with a few uncomplicated words. "Open up your mouth and say something!" is what I wanted to scream in Bree's face, the entire time.

Bree is a "successful" matchmaker, only she doesn't really take a handle on her own life. Her boyfriend of four years dumps her suddenly and she thrusts herself into a fake human relationship with one of her clients. I bet you lot can guess where this story is headed . . .

Why didn't I just quit? I know, I've asked myself the same question a hundred times already. Maybe I'chiliad an optimist at heart, a glutton for penalty or information technology could be that "bad" reviews are just easier to write . . . yous option the excuse. Or just maybe, I managed to convince myself I could exist missing out on something stellar. If I could get through a few more chapters, it might magically morph into something slap-up. If only I had brought my unicorn along.

Can I See You Once more is the type of contemporary romance I've been looking for. Allison Morgan pens a sweet and cute romance with emotional depth that left me smiling until the very end. I just accept i question for the author: Ms. Morgan, Tin I Come across You Again?

Bree is a matchmaker with a near-perfect success rate. Her one failure, Nixon Voss, is a loftier-powered businessman who can't seem to notice the right woman to win his heart. Bree's debut novel, Tin I Meet You Again, is fix to hit shelves soon and her publicist has a massive campaign in the works. The only problem is that her publicist wants to practise an interview serial most Bree'south ain honey life but her fellow just bankrupt up with her. Her solution is a creative one: Get Nixon to pose as her imitation fellow. With her career and her heart on the line, Bree's situation is complicated farther when her grandmother's house is at risk of beingness lost, making the success of her novel fifty-fifty more vital.

What I liked almost most this book was how information technology made me experience. Information technology had this sugariness amuse to it that left me feeling happy from the first page to the final. The novel was cute overall, but it was also funny and had level emotional depth that was refreshing to meet. I've been searching for a good contemporary romance that had characters I felt attached to but wasn't filled with dramatics. This was just the book for me and it came at just the right time.

"Y'all're not here because your mom said so. Yous're here because yous're a 30-five twelvemonth-quondam man with no one to share your life. Your house is cold and sterile. There's probably expired milk in your fridge. And more than probable, gray hairs are sprouting up in inappropriate places. Your comfort zone is shrinking and, at the terminate of the day, you lot're alone."
"Shit, Bree. Don't sugarcoat it. Requite it to me direct."

The chemical science between Nixon and Bree was there from the get go. Nixon knew exactly how to push button Bree just plenty to make her see a different perspective. I love it when an author takes the reader along with the characters as they get to know each other. The fashion Morgan built the romantic connection between the characters was swell, which made me believe in the romance.
"I've learned what it's like to osculation a human with every flake of my torso and mind. To be stilled by his touch, silenced by his breath on my skin, honored past his smile. I've learned what it's like toexperience."

"Perhaps you didn't hear me. I'g not getting on this [motorbike]."
"I heard yous."
"I don't want to die."
"That makes two of us." He easily me my jacket, then crams my sweatshirt and toothbrush into a saddlebag fixed to the side of the bike.
"Tell you lot what, I'll walk."
"Fine. Head northward. I'll run across you in a hundred and 20 miles."

At the heart of this story is Bree finding out what she wants and who she wants to be.  She has to repair her by wounds and go past her own heartache to movement forward. I really liked that this wasn't just a love story but also a family story—one that took Bree dorsum to her childhood and made her face some hard things. I really liked Bree'due south relationship with her grandmother, Jo.
"Who needs 'em? I e'er say, if program A fails, y'all have twenty-five letters left."

At that place were a few things that bothered me in this book. At one point, Bree gets an attorney without her grandma's knowledge in hopes of saving her grandma'south house from being sold on the courthouse steps. I didn't find this entirely accurate or conceivable, as no chaser would talk to a third political party (Bree) without the client's consent first or without proper legal documentation (like a guardianship or power of attorney). Bree'due south internal monologue was sometimes a bit over-the-top but it wasn't plenty to affect my enjoyment of the book. Lastly, I wish the book hadn't ended then abruptly. I wanted a little chip more time to exhale before that last period.

Bottom Line: Recommended for readers looking for a lighthearted love story full of emotional depth and sugariness moments without over-the-top dramatics.

Then Bree's lies and globe came tumbling down and Nixon was out the door.

With enough of tension and feet near how they were going to settle the issues, the author kept the story interesting, with several twists and turns to keep us guessing. I was hoping for a wonderful, romantic finish, notwithstanding, I felt it was a bit lacking.

Overall, this was a delightfully sweetness read that is clean and perfect for your summertime reading sessions.

This volume is a cute, quick, predictable read. Nothing in this book was surprising and all of information technology was fairly typical of a chicklit book; nonetheless, that did not deter my enjoyment of the book. Bree is a spunky, self-sufficient femals who has clear professional person and personal goals that she is not afraid to go after. I enjoyed reading almost her exploits throughout the book, especially in regards to the male person honey interests. I do think some of the sub plots were unnecessary and didn't necessarily add to the overall story, but it was a very enjoyable read with some pretty spunky characters.

If I have to be honest, I wanted to read this volume because I vicious in love with the cover. Has that ever happened to y'all? Then I read the blurb and I thought it would exist fun to read about a matchmaker and her personal ordeal.

The story began with nice grapheme development just afterward a few capacity, it fell a footling flat for me. I don't know if information technology was because the more lies the heroine told the more unbelievable they felt.

Bree Caxton is trying to promote her book about matchmaking and the solar day before she has an important interview, her fellow of 4 years dumps her. She is of grade, devastated simply must find a man who can pose as her boyfriend for the interview. She'south saved when one of her clients Nixon Voss appears at her office. In exchange for attention a family wedding ceremony with him, he would become her faux fellow.

As you can tell the story is just going to get more than convoluted. Bree'south lies are going to snowball and at some point, the truth is going to come up out and brand her life even worse.

At present, I do want to say that at that place are some funny scenes betwixt Bree and Nixon. Nixon was a expert guy and he seemed to bring out the best in Bree. I thought they had chemistry together which was completely absent from her relationship with Sean.

I wished I had loved this volume every bit much every bit I thought I was going to. I call up a longer last chapter or an epilogue could have helped. Instead, the last chapter felt rushed.

Some other mean solar day, another chick lit. novel read past me! Oh, how consistent I am!

"'Everything about him is truthful. He is kind. He is handsome. He is the truest person I've ever met. He's the man I call back of when I accept a bad dream, a crummy twenty-four hour period, when the lights go out and the entire house is nighttime. But I've hurt him.'"

Welcome to yet another review of a romance novel…it seems similar all I've been reading lately is chick lit. (or YA books verging on chick lit. status), and I am very okay with that. Other than the Victorian novels that form my academic roots, chick lit. is my get-to reading genre, and I don't see that as probable to modify anytime soon. Even the YA and fantasy novels I choose to pick upward all have some chemical element of romance to them, and I'thou starting to embrace and be less ashamed of this personal preference more and more as I engage with agreeing readers on Goodreads. Chick lit. tin can exist awesome, deep, profound and super entertaining ~ I'1000 hither to shout that from the rooftops!

Anywho, I digress…let's get dorsum on track for today, shall we?

I just finished the almost wonderful story!

~ an actual quote from me today, upon finishing Can I See You Again? by Allison Morgan

(*Yes, also a quote spoken past Belle in Beauty and the Beast…but we're practically the same person anyway, and then allow'southward curlicue with it!)

Let'due south start with a few things that I know to be true virtually myself. ane) I don't usually pick up books based on their covers. two) When I do, I rarely await them to exist masterpieces because I've been burned before by a pretty embrace (for example, hither). 3) When a book has a gorgeous cover AND is amazingly written, gripping and makes me feel warm and fuzzy within (as in the case of this example), I am ane happy lady and it is very likely that I will become obsessed with said book.

I picked up Tin I Meet You Again? by Allison Morgan on an absolute whim a few weeks ago, solely because the cover jumped out at me in the bookstore. (Bank check out the Goodreads page for this book here to run across said cover, which I unfortunately did not have time to snap a photograph of myself.) Was I expecting Can I Run into You lot Once again? to exist sugary sweet and adorable? Yes ma'am. Was I expecting it to be unique, with a witty and engaging narrator/protagonist I loved within pages and a hilarious yet still feasible plot? No sir. I was Not at all expecting to fall head over heels in love with the main grapheme of the novel, Bree Caxton, and I certainly wasn't expecting to laugh out loud while reading her narration. Sure, I knew I'd probably discover some moments beautiful and endearing, as I do in most chick lit. novels I option upwardly (I'chiliad relatively easy to please, except when I'chiliad actually not, so it's a disaster, equally in this example!), but I didn't think the story would get under my peel quite every bit much as it did. I was a fan of just most everything about this novel, I would consider it well-nigh perfection in terms of the chick lit. standards I've come up to prefer over the years…and this vehement reaction of mine was what was very surprising.

I really struggle to write reviews of Bully novels, to exist honest. I notice information technology easy to log in detail what I don't like nearly a novel when I take a violent reaction to it…but when a novel is Skilful, I detect myself just wanting to say, Go and option it upwardly for yourself! How do you put into words why yous loved a novel or why you had such fun reading it? It'due south more of a feeling than any one specific affair about the volume sometimes, and that'south the case for my feel reading Can I See You Once again? these past few days. Yes, the characters, mainly Bree, her dearest interest Nixon and her best friend Andrew, are creatively depicted and have very distinct voices. Yes, the barrack between Bree and Nixon is on fire, and I found myself grinning from ear to ear reading well-nigh how Nixon was flirting with Bree (often without her even realizing information technology, despite the fact that she's a dearest guru past trade). Yes, the plot was filled with romantic moments like an unexpected offset kiss and enough hijinks to make Sophie Kinsella proud. Just, none of those things would necessary make me this excited nearly a volume; even if all these elements be and are executed well, the novel nonetheless has to have that little something special, that extra zing near information technology (like THIS INCREDIBLE Volume has in spades!) to get in really stand out amongst the zillions and bazillions of chick lit. novels I've read in my lifetime. And, somehow, Can I Come across You Again? had this. I can't put it into words, only what I will say is that I loved every moment of reading this book, found it about impossible to put downward, and really never wanted information technology to end. Considering I had never even heard of Allison Morgan before seeing the novel in Chapters, I find this reaction pretty terrific (certainly i to shout about from the rooftops!), and I am definitely intending to pick up her other novel, The Anytime Jar, soon.

I also should say that the cute comprehend of Can I See You Once again? clearly did its job! Equally I said, I had never heard of Allison Morgan until I SAW this book in Capacity with my own ii eyes, and it was the design of the comprehend that made me choice it up, turn it over, read the synopsis, so buy it. Information technology wasn't the title or Morgan's name fastened to information technology…it was 100% the comprehend. And so, kudos to the embrace designers considering they made me into an Allison Morgan fan and I'1000 super grateful for that!

I'll be passing Can I See You Again? on to my mom ASAP…which means information technology is a really darn good chick lit. novel because her standards are loftier, and if a volume doesn't capture her attention within the showtime chapter, she'south bound to put it downward. This one, though, I retrieve she'll struggle to put down at all!

"'I've learned what it'due south like to buss a man with as of my body and heed. To exist stilled by his touched, silenced past his breath on my pare, honored by his smile. I've learned what it's like to feel. I've learned what information technology's like to lose him.'"

Can I See You Over again? by Allison Morgan is anticipated, fluffy romance. I wanted to like this story, but I found it dull. I didn't experience connected to whatever of the characters and I found Bree to be a doormat and rather unlikable. Sometimes I want low-cal and fluffy, but I also desire something compelling me to finish the story. Unfortunately, this but wasn't for me. I thought the Someday Jar was a really cute, I did not like all of the lying the main graphic symbol did throughout. It got deadening and made it a haul to get through. I will read books by this author in the future as I did enjoy the starting time book and there were good parts to this book as well.

Beautiful, but forgettable. Information technology had a cute premise complete with a fake dating trope that I usually love, but the protagonist's personality was lacking. There was little depth to any of the characters. The author tried to brand me care about Bree by giving her a traumatic event in her past, but I just didn't care.

My biggest problem with this volume was that very little made sense. Information technology was full of contrivances that were created to keep the plot moving the way the author wanted. She wanted to use the fake

Cute, only forgettable. It had a cute premise complete with a fake dating trope that I usually love, but the protagonist'southward personality was lacking. There was little depth to whatsoever of the characters. The author tried to brand me care virtually Bree past giving her a traumatic result in her past, but I but didn't care.

My biggest problem with this book was that very fiddling made sense. It was full of contrivances that were created to go along the plot moving the way the author wanted. She wanted to employ the fake dating trope (which again, I am a full sucker for) but the way it came almost fabricated no sense. She basically signs her privacy away to a magazine doing a series of manufactures about her to promote her book. Just and so nosotros're supposed to believe that that somehow entitles the magazine unfiltered access into the life of her significant other...that's not how that works. And because her book is well-nigh finding love, she is told that she is required to be in a relationship...impaired.

Only of course, her long-term boyfriend has just broken upward with her because of...reasons...information technology's pretty weak. And then she thinks fast and introduces i of her clients as her swain...without asking his permission.

Simply then, considering that's not plenty, we have to have the deadbeat ex-boyfriend testify support and complicate matters by trying to get back together with her...similar a couple days later breaking information technology off. Because of course we do. Misunderstandings and mediocrity ensue.

But then, information technology was equally if someone told her that any reasonable person would just take bowed out of the whole thing rather than creating this convoluted deception. So the author threw in this subplot about the grandma on the verge of losing her home because she hasn't paid taxes for years (because her husband took care of all of that...smh) so Bree has to stick with all the ridiculousness because she HAS to make the best-seller listing with her book and then she can get a bonus that volition permit her to salvage her grandmother'south home. Does that sound as convoluted to yous every bit it does to me?

I besides thought the author's attempts at humor were unsuccessful. I liked the barrack between our protagonist and her faux-turned-real love interest, just other than that it fell flat.

It'southward actually a shame, considering the bits and pieces we got with Bree and Nixon were actually pretty practiced. I liked their dates, especially the camping trip, and idea they were a cute couple when Bree wasn't sabotaging everything.

Other odds and ends:
one. Information technology is and then nitpicky, only I rolled my optics every fourth dimension Bree referred to her tardily grandfather as '1000-pa'. I don't know why. It just annoyed me.
2. The scene with Bree and Sean in the hotel was stupid. (view spoiler)[ Why would you continue a romantic getaway with someone if you lot were on your menstruum? The fact that Sean didn't phone call her out was unbelievable. (hide spoiler)]
iii. For those looking for steamy books, this is a no-get. There are a lot of references fabricated to sex and body parts, merely zero sex activity scenes and only a couple of heated kisses.
4. Sean was boring as heck. He had zero personality.

I could see this being a picture show on lifetime or hallmark. I'd probably sentinel it if there wasn't anything else on.

While the author clearly had good intentions for this story, and was able to write a few poignant moments here and there, this volume felt so aimless. There's no character evolution whatsoever. Every cheesy romantic one-act plot line y'all can remember of got thrown in, unfortunately it was neither romantic nor funny. I kept hanging on, hoping for a large pay off that merely never came. The events in this story were so haphazardly thrown together that the entire book was but kind of dissatisfying. As someone who can normally append my disbelief for the sake of a romance novel, fifty-fifty I found most of this unbelievable. And the worst function is how stupid the main character acted. She made terrible decisions with absolutely nada forethought. It was very frustrating. From the very beginning I knew exactly what was going to happen and exactly how all of the problems that I knew were coming upwards could have been solved in the first couple capacity of the volume. The whole thing felt poorly planned out and sloppily written. ...more

I enjoyed this book for the nigh part! The funny matter is, when I started to read it I had this singled-out feeling that I've read information technology earlier. For the most role, a decent story. There was so much going on. Bree was, at times, mildly infuriating and I couldn't stand up half of her reasoning for doing things. The writer used a few choice words that I didn't like. I suppose this volume showed just how childish and selfish we can exist at times, under the guise of doing what is "right." Well, this was a pleasant piddling find. I pulled off of my library's "new" shelf, and I had moderate expectations because I'm not really a chick lit person (except for Chicklet gum!). I concluded up really liking it.

Information technology'southward a gentle read, meaning it doesn't ask a lot of you, and it's not going to change your life, but if yous are looking for an enjoyable romance without graphic sexual activity, I recommend it. Great summer read.

Standard romance with the standard characters - the overachieving female with the deep dark regret, her gay best friend, her longtime boyfriend, the hot guy she's barely acquainted with - and the standard plot - crazy lies, no communication and shenanigans!

Not bad, non spectacular. A decent read for its genre.

I liked this book a lot. Certain, all the lies and deceit were screwed up, merely I liked Bree. She was funny and she cared a lot almost Jo. I hated her through some of the book though. I really liked Nixon, what a genuine guy he was.
I hated the time that Bree got back with Sean....she was very stupid concerning him.
All in all, a good read. Read it in about a day.
